PageOne vs Moz for small business

Moz splits SEO and local listings into two products, Moz Pro and Moz Local, billed separately. PageOne puts content, rank tracking, and your Google Business Profile in one plan.

PageOne
Free, or from $19.99/mo
Moz Pro
From $49/mo
Moz Local
$20–$40/mo per location

The short answer

Pick Moz if link data and Domain Authority matter to how you work, or you track hundreds of keywords on large sites: Moz Pro Standard is $99 a month for 300 keywords and up to 100,000 pages crawled a week. Pick PageOne if you're one business that wants posts written and published, rankings checked, and Google reviews answered, from $19.99 a month.

To cover what PageOne Individual does, a small business on Moz would usually need Moz Pro plus Moz Local Preferred ($30 a month per location) for profile posts and review replies. That's $129 a month before add-ons, and Moz still won't write or publish your posts.

Which one fits you?

Pick Moz if…

  • You use Domain Authority to judge links, prospects, or clients
  • You need a large link index to see who links to competitors
  • You track hundreds of keywords (300 on Standard, 1,500 on Medium)
  • You audit big sites: Standard crawls up to 100,000 pages a week
  • You manage listings for several locations through Moz Local

Pick PageOne if…

  • You want posts drafted and published to WordPress, not just a brief
  • You'd rather pay one bill than two
  • You want your Business Profile and site SEO in the same dashboard
  • You need a couple dozen keywords watched, not hundreds
  • You want to start free

Side by side.

Moz Pro Standard is the first Moz plan with published limits. Moz Local is a separate subscription for each location.

Moz Starter ($49 a month) is meant for one website, but Moz doesn't publish its full limits, so we compared Standard. PageOne checks rankings every Sunday. Individual's 100 monthly checks cover 25 keywords a week, and each check also records the positions of the competitors you watch.

What a year costs.

One location, billed monthly, with Moz Local Preferred for Business Profile posts and review replies.

Moz Pro Standard + Moz Local Preferred

Moz Pro Standard, $99 × 12$1,188
Moz Local Preferred, $30 × 12$360
First year$1,548

PageOne Individual

$19.99 a month × 12$239.88
First year$239.88

Paying yearly brings Moz to about $1,247: $79 a month for Moz Pro Standard plus $299 a year for Moz Local Preferred. Extra Moz Pro seats are $49 a month each.

What PageOne does that Moz doesn't.

Moz is built to measure. PageOne also produces the work.

  • Writes full posts with images from a keyword, not just a content brief
  • Publishes to WordPress on a schedule, or runs inside wp-admin through its plugin
  • Builds service and location pages in your saved colors and fonts
  • Turns a blog post into Facebook, Instagram, and X posts
  • Keeps Business Profile replies and posts in the same dashboard as your rankings
  • Writes a daily briefing of what moved and what to do next

Questions people ask before switching.

Is PageOne cheaper than Moz?

Yes. PageOne Individual is $19.99 a month. Moz Pro starts at $49, its first plan with published limits (Standard) is $99, and Business Profile tools need Moz Local on top, at $20 to $40 a month per location.

Does Moz write blog posts?

Moz Pro creates AI content briefs (2 a month on Standard), which outline a post for you to write. It doesn't write or publish full posts. PageOne drafts posts with images and can publish them to WordPress.

Do I need Moz Local as well as Moz Pro?

Only for local listings work. Moz Local handles directory listings, the Local Grid, review monitoring, and, from the Preferred tier, Google posts and review replies. Each location is a separate subscription.

Which tracks rankings better?

Moz, on volume: 300 keywords on Standard against PageOne Individual's 25. Both update weekly. PageOne also shows who holds the spots above you and whether a local pack or AI overview appears.

Does PageOne show Domain Authority?

Domain Authority is Moz's own metric. PageOne's backlink profile shows authority, referring sites, anchors, and new and lost links, refreshed up to 4 times a month on Individual.

Can I try both?

Moz offers a 7-day trial of Moz Pro Medium, which needs a card. PageOne has a free plan that needs no card.
